Changes in online education are intimately tied to changes and discoveries in the fields of science and technology. The discoveries/inventions produced by STEM fields are often so progressive and rapid that education lags several years behind the curve. So, what potential changes are in store for online and virtual education? That depends on changes in technology and its applications. The National Digital Science Library has a host of resources for educators (at all levels) in the STEM fields. The resources for k-12 teachers collection links to many sites that provide everything from information to community and dialogue for STEM educators.

The Applied Math and Science Education Repository (AMSER) provides educational resources for those in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields. AMSER is funded by the NSF and the National Science Digital Library, created to compile and direct users to quality resources for people teaching and working in STEM fields. The AMSER website is easy to navigate and its resources are appropriately catalogued.
